The team innovated a hybrid dolly design inhouse that saved the business significant lead time and thousands of dollars in cost of buying a new dolly.

Etihad Engineering won the inaugural “Pride of Aviation” award at the Aviation Business Awards 2020. The award was presented to Etihad Engineering for demonstrating outstanding steadfastness in the face of an unprecedented industry crisis and meeting adversity with solidarity, innovation, determination and adaptability.
Aviation Executive of the Year 2019
Abdul Khaliq Saeed, the Chief Executive Officer of Etihad Engineering and the leading force behind the strong operational and financial results demonstrated by the company, was named ‘Aviation Executive of the Year’ at the Aviation Business Awards 2019. Under his stewardship, Etihad Engineering exceeded its financial targets for 2018 and maintained consistently high on-time performance throughout the year.

The company expanded its comprehensive capabilities partnering with industry leaders regionally and globally to strengthen its global customer footprint beyond the Middle East across Europe, Asia, Africa and Latin America.

Etihad Engineering has been awarded the prestigious Sheikh Khalifa Excellence Award (SKEA) for demonstrating continuous business improvement operational excellence. This recognition highlights Etihad Airways Engineering’s significant achievements, strong leadership and commitment to continuous improvement and people development.
A350 maintenance capability
We have added Airbus A350 maintenance capabilities to our extensive maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) services portfolio. The first A350 aircraft arrived for maintenance in Abu Dhabi from the company’s long-term client, LATAM Airlines group, the leading airline group in Latin America, and more inputs are planned in the months ahead.
Strategic collaboration with Moog Inc.
Etihad Aviation Group announced a strategic 15-year collaboration with Moog Inc. at the Bahrain International Airshow 2018. The partnership will provide Etihad Airways with global access to the Moog Inc. component pool and Moog Inc. will work with Etihad Airways Engineering to expand the company’s component capability onsite to become a centre of excellence for component repair and overhaul.
Global partnerships to strengthen 3D printing capability
Etihad Airways Engineering has joined hands with EOS, the world’s leading technology supplier in the field of industrial 3D printing, and BigRep, manufacturer of high performance 3D printing systems, to expand its capabilities for industrial additive manufacturing in aviation.
Best Quality Leadership Award 2018
Etihad Airways Engineering was honoured with the Best Quality Leadership Award 2018 by European Society for Quality Research (ESQR) in its annual convention held in the USA. The award was given for demonstrating outstanding leadership by taking innovative steps to advance the development of quality in the aviation maintenance sector.
Double win at the Aviation Business Awards 2018
Etihad Airways Engineering won the ‘Unsung Hero of the Year’ and ‘Engineering Innovation of the Year’ awards at the Aviation Business Awards. The Technical Sales and Customer Service team was named ‘Unsung Hero of the Year’ for expanding the company’s global client portfolio and the ‘Engineering Innovation of the Year’ award recognised developments in next-generation inflight connectivity.
UAE GCAA Aeronnovation Award
Etihad Airways Engineering was awarded the prestigious UAE General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) Aeronnovation award in the ‘Improving Aviation Safety’ category during the UAE’s Innovation Month in 2018. Etihad Airways Engineering’s winning entry – Fuel Drain-Doctor – efficiently and safely drains condensate water and fuel and reduces depuddling times from hours to minutes.
